Great deal on computer paper!

I've been sadly remiss on blogging this past week. School has overwhelmed me but I'm getting back on track! Grocery deals will posted tomorrow night! Hopefully you were able to get some good grocery deals without my help. If not, don't worry. It was a very slow week in the coupon world. But here's a good deal for us who print massive amounts of coupons!

Staples has Hammermill Copy Plus Paper (500 sheet ream) on sale for $5.49
-$2/1 SS coupon in last Sunday's paper (regional coupon, not everyone is reporting getting it but I did!)
-$4.49 Easy Rebate (Staple's rebate- they'll tell you how to get it at the store if you don't know how. It's super easy and can be done online)
= $1 Moneymaker!

Safeway Deals (08/25/2010- 09/01/2010)

Sorry none of the sales got posted yesterday. It's my first week back to school and yesterday was a bit hectic and stressful. There's not a whole lot of great deals to be had this week at any of the stores. Mostly in the B or C range is what I'm seeing. Get what you need, but I wouldn't stock up on anything this week. We'll probably just eat from our stockpile.

Reminder: Safeway doubles coupons up to a dollar, so if you've got a $.25 off coupon, it's worth $.50. If you've got a $.50 off coupon, it's worth $1. Safeway also gives a $.05 per reusable bag you bring in and use.

Need to do some back to school shopping? Today's Groupon deal is a $50 gift certificate to the Gap for only $25! I'm definitely getting in on this deal. Never heard of Groupon? It's a wonderful website. It's a combination of the words "Group" and "Coupon". Everyday there's a new deal of the day and a certain number of people need to buy in before the deal is "on". I've never seen it not be on though. But if it should happen, then you're not charged for the coupon. There's restaurants, spas, stores, and a bunch of other deals that circulate through. Head on over HERE to check it out. You won't be sorry!

Limoncello Fruit Salad

I made this very summery dish last night for my family and it was just scrumptious! We still have 2 bottles of limoncello in the freezer from our cruise 3 years ago and so I'm constantly trying to find recipes to use it in. It's potent stuff! This dish was elegant, easy, and nutritious. A perfect compliment to a summer menu!

Ingredients
• 7 ounces Greek yogurt
• 1/3 cup good bottled lemon curd
• 1 tablespoon honey
• 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
• 2 cups sliced strawberries (1 pint)
• 1 cup raspberries (1/2 pint)
• 1 cup blueberries (1/2 pint)
• 2 tablespoons sugar
• 3 tablespoons limoncello liqueur
• 1 banana, sliced
• Fresh mint springs

Directions

For the lemon yogurt topping, whisk together the yogurt, lemon curd, honey, and vanilla and set aside at room temperature.
For the fruit salad, carefully toss together the strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, sugar, and limoncello. Allow them to stand at room temperature for about 5 minutes to let the berries macerate with the sugar and liqueur. Gently fold the banana into the mixture.
Serve bowls of fruit with a dollop of lemon yogurt on top. Top each with a sprig of fresh mint.

King Soopers (08/11/2010- 08/17/2010)

Some good stuff this week at King Soopers. It's an excellent week at Kings and Safeway for people new to couponing who don't have a bunch of printed coupons. Most of the coupons are also available online! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! It's a bit complicated at first, I know! Remember, King Soopers also gives a $.05 per bag credit for every reusable bag you bring in!

P.S. I don't know if I've ever mentioned this but if you see an e-coupon posted, these coupons don't double. You'll load them directly onto your shoppers card (either King Soopers or Safeway) and they automatically come off when you check out. You can pair them with a printed coupon which does double.

Cheap Airfare Alert!

Frontier Airlines, which is based here in Colorado, is celebrating Colorado Day with huge discounts on airfare out of Colorado Springs and Denver. Some are as low as $29 one-way! I'm getting in on this deal. I only wish the sale extended to Connecticut. That would be great! You'll need to purchase by Wednesday, August 4th and fly no later than November 17th. So hurry!
