A long lost sweet potato recipe
Ingredients:
Pecan/Brown Sugar Topping:
• 1 cup flour
• ¾ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 8 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into half inch cubes
• 1 cup toasted chopped pecans
Sweet Potatoes:
• 5 pounds sweet potatoes
• ¼ cup milk
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• 6 Tablespoons unsalted butter melted
• 3 eggs• ½ cup maple syrup
• ¼ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
• 2 teaspoons kosher salt
• Pepper to taste
• Pinch of freshly grated nutmeg (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- Place potatoes in a large roasting pan with a small amount of water, cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil, cook potatoes until tender, about an hour to an hour and a half. Transfer potatoes out of pan and let cool.
- Reduce oven to 350 degrees.
- Peel off potato skins when cool, cut the flesh into half-inch cubes.
- Transfer ¼ of potatoes to a large bowl and mash with a potato masher. Add the remaining potatoes and stir.
- In a separate bowl whisk together the milk, vanilla, butter, eggs, maple syrup, brown sugar, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Add mixture to the sweet potatoes.
For the topping, prepare in a bowl — stir flour, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, butter, then toasted pecans, the topping should hold together in your fingers but crumble easily. - Transfer potato mixture to a large rectangular baking dish and sprinkle with topping.
- Bake around 45-60 minutes or until the top is crisp and brown.

Sunflower Deals are back!
That’s right, after a very long hiatus, I am back with all the grocery deals! School’s over for a while and I can now devote the time to bringing you the best deals around. Hopefully you’ve still been able to get the grocery deals at other websites. If not, have no fear as I will now be guiding you through the wonderful process of couponing!
Remember, Sunflower has double deal days on Wednesdays which means that everything that was on sale last week is still on sale tomorrow along with the new deals for the week. Also, Sunflower still gives a $.10 credit for every reusable bag you bring in and use. You can even bring in old plastic bags and use those! I’ve only highlighted the best deals from last week but if you want a rundown of all last week’s sale items, head over to springsbargains.com.

CHEAP Leapfrog books and Games!
Here are a few different scenarios to try. I haven't confirmed that they work yet. I'll be heading out as soon as I post this to try them so I'll let you know if I run into any problems.
Scenario 1:
Buy (3) Monopoly and/or Sorry Games for $7.99 each (one will be free with the sale)
-(3) $4 Hasbro Games Coupons HERE
=$1.33 each
Scenario 2:
Buy (3) LeapFrog Tag Junior Books for $10.99 each (one will be free with the sale)
-(3) $4 Tag Coupons HERE or MQ (9/19 SS)
=$3.33 each!
Scenario 3:
Buy (3) Connect 4 Travel Sized $6.99 (one will be free with the sale)
-(3) $4 Connect 4 Coupons HERE
=.66 each!
PLUS, do scenario #1 and #2 and bring this $5 off $25 Toys R Us coupon to get all of it for $8.96 total or substitute Scenario #3 for #2 and get all those games for only $.17 each! AMAZING! Even if you don't have kids or don't know any kids you could give them to, save them for one of the Christmas charities. They'll definitely appreciate them!
You may encounter problems with using coupons off the free item. Try explaining that the manufacturer will reimburse them for the value of the coupon just like you were paying cash. As long as the product is listed on your receipt and scanned through the register, it is still viewed as purchasing the product. This may or may not work. Also try getting a manager involved if you're still having problems.
(Thanks Bargain Blessings!)

• 1 cup blueberries (1/2 pint)
• 2 tablespoons sugar
• 3 tablespoons limoncello liqueur
• 1 banana, sliced
• Fresh mint springs
Directions
For the lemon yogurt topping, whisk together the yogurt, lemon curd, honey, and vanilla and set aside at room temperature.
For the fruit salad, carefully toss together the strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, sugar, and limoncello. Allow them to stand at room temperature for about 5 minutes to let the berries macerate with the sugar and liqueur. Gently fold the banana into the mixture.
Serve bowls of fruit with a dollop of lemon yogurt on top. Top each with a sprig of fresh mint.
